Durante il workshop Gioco Urbano Interculturale (22 novembre - 17 dicembre 2010, 21 ore di incontri, 4 settimane, due incontri settimanali da 2,5 ore ciascuno) si pianificherà e organizzerà un evento che coinvolga cittadini reggiani e migranti promuovendo la comunicazione interculturale. L'evento da realizzare sarà fondato sul gioco e per progettarlo si discuteranno alcuni principi del game design riguardanti il gioco urbano e le narrazioni distribuite. Si tratta di metodi d'avanguardia per la comunicazione ludica che si stanno rapidamente affermando per campagne di comunicazione sociale, di urbanistica partecipata e di marketing del territorio.
Il tema dell'evento di gioco urbano sarà il cibo e la sua preparazione. Cucinare è un'attività comune a ogni società e un elemento rilevante per l’identità culturale. È una pratica facilmente comprensibile al di là delle differenze linguistiche, attorno a cui esistono norme di grande importanza per la coesione sociale. Cucinare e mangiare sono, in tutte le società, momenti di aggregazione e dialogo.
I dettagli della progettazione dell'evento saranno definiti nello specifico in collaborazione con le associazioni interculturali-partner del workshop, operanti nel territorio in cui il progetto sarà messo in atto. Il workshop si terrà nel periodo tra il 22 novembre al 17 dicembre 2010, per un totale di 21 ore di incontri su 4 settimane, due incontri settimanali da 2,5 ore ciascuno. L'effettiva realizzazione e messa in scena dell'evento e del gioco, programmata per il periodo di marzo-aprile 2011, sarà coordinata e portata avanti dai partecipanti al seminario e dalle associazioni coinvolte.
Gli studenti dell’Ateneo di Modena e Reggio Emilia che parteciperanno sia al workshop come offerta didattica a scelta libera e all’organizzazione dell’evento potranno ottenere 3 CFU presentando un breve lavoro scritto finale da concordare con il coordinatore del workshop.

Workshop "Intercultural Urban Game"
During the workshop Intercultural Urban Game (November 22 to December 17, 2010, 21 hours of encounters, four weeks, two weekly sessions of 2.5 hours each) you will plan and organize an event involving citizens of Reggio Emilia and migrants, promoting intercultural communication . The event will be organized based on game project work and discussion of principles of game design for urban games, and distributed forms of narration. These advanced methods for ludic communication are rapidly gaining ground in social communication, participatory planning projects and territorial marketing campaigns.
The theme of the event will be an urban game connected to food and its preparation. Cooking is an activity common to every society and an important element for cultural identity.This form of social practice is easy to understand across language differences, and to which there are associated precise rules of great importance for social cohesion. Cooking and eating constitute, in all societies, times and spaces for gatherings and dialogue.
The design details of the event will be defined more specifically in collaboration with the workshop's intercultural association partners, operative in areas where the game project will be implemented. The workshop will be held in the period November 22 to December 17, 2010, a total of 21 hours of encounters over four weeks - two weekly sessions of 2.5 hours each. The creation and staging of the event and the game, scheduled for the period March-April 2011, will be coordinated and implemented by seminar participants and the involved associations.
Students of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia who participate in the workshop as a non mandatory course, and in the organization of the event itself, will be able to obtain 3 academic credits by submitting a written final paper negotiated with the coordinator of the workshop.
